Exploración y visualización de distribución de especies amenazadas. IUCN

La página web de la Lista Roja de la UICN de Especies Amenazadas tiene una nueva característica diseñada para facilitar la exploración y la visualización de los rangos de distribución de las especies.

The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™ website has a brand new feature designed to facilitate the exploration and visualization of species distribution ranges.
This new map browser allows users to explore the distribution and habitat of a species in a way that has not been possible on the IUCN Red List website before. The maps show the confirmed and inferred distribution of over 30,000 species and can be viewed on a selection of interesting and informative backgrounds.
With this new browser, it is possible to discover the topography of marine and terrestrial habitats or easily identify the countries or regions a species occurs in using one of the labeled maps. Using the zoom tools you can also examine some of the maps in closer detail and learn more about the habitat a species lives in.
Links to the maps can be found on species profile pages and the Red List species factsheets. The maps are best viewed using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
To explore the new map browser visit the IUCN Red List of Threatened SpeciesTM website.
